Julie Goodyear from Coronation Street and Jan Leeming a former broadcaster are set to take the stage in Calendar Girls, at the Noel Coward Theatre, in the theatrical adaptation of the 2003 film that originally stared Julie Walters and Helen Mirren in the title roles.
The two stars will join a new cast in the production that also includes Helen Lederer and comedic actress Arabella Weir.
The plot of Calendar Girl?s is set to amuse by itself, without the major stars however, as it is a true story based on a group of woman from the Women’s Institute of North Yorkshire who strip for a charity calendar, and receive much more donations than they expected.
Jerry Hall will step down from her role as Miss September and Kelly Brook will take her place. Brook is best known for her previous stripping experience last year in the comedic play Fat Pig by Neil Labute.
The new cast can be seen from November 3rd onward, and will also include Rob James Collier tackling the role of the photographer who arrives to film the girls naked for the calendar.
Those who watch Coronation Street will recognize him as Liam Conner, making his debut appearance on the West End stage.
