Debbie Reynolds West End return

Debbie Reynolds, the Hollywood legend, is planning to bring her legacy to the UK when her new show launches at the Theatre Royal in Norwich on April 7th, 2010.

From here the 15 date regional tour of Debbie Reynolds Alive and Fabulous begins with performances at the Apollo Theatre in the West End scheduled from April 29th thru May 9th.

Reynolds is best known for her starring roles in films such as “That’s Entertainment!,” “Singin in the Rain,” and “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.” In her newest show she will celebrate her last 50 years in show biz by reminiscing about her career as she shows movie clips, performs, and talks about the many men she married over the years.

She stated in a press release that since it is a variety show she can pretty much do whatever she wants, which according to her means that she will be doing impressions of several of Hollywood’s most notable including Mae West, Barbara Streisand, and Katherine Hepburn.

This will be the first time that Reynolds hits the London stage in 34 years. The set of shows will be produced for Spirit Productions Worldwide by David King with assistance from musical director Joey Singer.

After the Norwich opener and before she makes it to the West End Reynolds will be performing in Manchester, Basingstoke, Windsor, Liverpool, Cardiff, Malvern, Cambridge, Southend, Birmingham, Leeds, Northampton, Bristol, Leicester, and Brighton.

In the recent years of her career Reynolds has been seen playing around globe in a nightclub act with her most recent appearance being this past June in New York at the Café Carlyle.
