Jerry Hall Reveals All As A Calendar Girl

Calendar Girls, the breakaway success film starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters is set to hit the stage this summer on the West End Stage with Jerry Hall posed to bare all as the lead Miss September.

The show and film focuses on a group of women who are from Rylston, Yorkshire who decide to pass by traditional fundraising formats and go for the gold by creating a risqué calendar to help raise money for leukaemia research.

What vamps up the show, is the fact that the calendar features the woman from the Institute performing traditional household chores such as gardening and cooking in nothing but pearls with carefully placed objects around the home placed to obscure the woman’s more sensitive areas.

Thus, it is a courageous leap for Jerry Hall at age 52, but perhaps not unexpected given her role nine years ago in The Graduate when she also bore all as Mrs. Robinson.

June Brown from the EastEnders will also be joining the cast of Calendar Girls as Miss January proving that age is not a concern for this group of performers as Brown is 82.

Hall will be replacing Gaynor Faye and Brown will replace Sian Philips. Other new cast members to join the cast of Calendar Girls this summer include Gemma Atkinson, Jill Halfpenny, and Anita Dobson.

The show will open on July 28th at London’s Noel Coward Theatre and is worth a visit even for those who have seen the previous production as Tim Firth, the stage play adaptor, has commented that the play has been rewritten substantially for the new cast.
