The Royal Opera House of Covent Garden was forced to make three senior technical staffing members redundant as it continues to reorganize and restructure its management to cut costs and streamline operations.

All of the three redundancies were from the costume department and included two technical managers at the Royal Opera House and one management position.

A spokesman for the Royal Opera House stated that the redundancies took place as a result of a new rational approach to management at the theatre company.

He stated that the company is simply looking at its strengths and weaknesses and making changes as times change much like any other business would as the company evolves.
